Although Dr. Paulette Selmi is a licensed psychologist in Arizona and Illinois, she has practiced primarily in Mesa since 1987. Originally trained at the Illinois Institute of Technology, she did her residency as an active-duty officer in the United States Air Force and eventually became chief of the Mental Health Clinic at Williams Air Force Base. After the military, Dr. Selmi opened a private practice in Mesa and was also the Director of Psychology at Desert Vista Hospital from 1989 until 1995.
In private practice, Dr. Selmi worked with children and families adjusting to divorce, and she often testified in court about these cases. This is where her interest in doing family court work was born.
